Terms

Updated 31 October 2026

The terms for using Keepsake, the Mac app, and this website. Short and in plain words.

Who we are

Keepsake is made by KEEPSAKE, a sole trader business in Denmark (CVR 46875990). You can reach us at hello@keepsakemac.com.

Using Keepsake

Keepsake is free to download and use on your own Macs, for yourself. Please don't sell it, pass copies of it on, or get around the way it unlocks, and don't take it apart except where the law lets you.

Your messages and your keepsakes

Keepsake reads your chats on your Mac and nowhere else (see Privacy). What you make with it is yours. A chat has other people in it too, so make keepsakes only of chats you're part of, and share them in a way the people in them would be happy with. What you share is up to you.

What's free and what's paid

Making keepsakes and looking at them is free, and so are Keepsake Postcards, the Overview and Keepsake Rewind. Taking a chat's Keepsake Book and Poster out, as PDFs to print or as a link to share, is paid once for that chat, whether it's one person or a whole group chat: $6.99, 5,99 €, 49 kr. in Denmark or 69 kr in Sweden, as shown before you pay. For 7 days after you buy, every keepsake you make of that chat is included. Nothing renews. There's no subscription.

A book shared as a link

Only if you choose to: Keepsake encrypts the book on your Mac and keeps it on our server, where only someone with the link can open it. Anyone you give the link to can, so choose who gets it. It stays up until you take it down in Keepsake, or with Delete Everything.

Buying

You buy on this website through Paddle (paddle.com), our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle sells you the purchase, takes the payment, handles tax, receipts and refunds, and its buyer terms apply to the sale. You get a code by email that unlocks what you bought in Keepsake, which checks it on your Mac without going online. The code is yours: a code that's shared around can be switched off.

Refunds

You can see the whole Book and Poster for free before you buy, and they're yours straight away once you have, so a purchase is final: at checkout you agree to get it at once, which ends the 14-day right to change your mind. If something's wrong, we'll put it right or refund you. See Refunds.

Updates

We keep improving Keepsake. An update can change how things look or work, but what you paid for stays unlocked. If these terms change, this page and its date change with them, and we'll say so in the app if it matters.

If something goes wrong

We make Keepsake with care, but it comes as it is: we can't promise it will read every chat or work perfectly on every Mac. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and what we owe you for a purchase is at most what you paid for it. None of this takes away your rights as a consumer where you live.

The law

Danish law applies to these terms. If you live elsewhere in the EU, your own country's consumer protections still apply to you. If we can't sort something out together, you can turn to the consumer complaints body or the courts where you live.
